The Pros and Cons of Infinix S5 Pro
Infinix S5 Pro is the first pop-up camera smartphone launched by the house of Infinix. This notch-less phone sports a 16MP pop-up snapper, a 48MP triple rear camera, and comfortable build design. Infinix has listed this phone in an affordable segment to compete against other brands in the market.
A few of the features that help this smartphone stand out amongst the other phones would first and foremost be its Design and Display.
The Infinix S5 Pro has a trendy Popup Selfie camera. The pop-up camera design allows the smartphone to offer a Full View Display with a 91% Screen to Body Ratio. This smartphone comes with an immersive 6.53” FHD+ full view display that provides zero distraction in the viewing experience. It has a 19:5:9 aspect ratio that comes with narrow bezels, offering maximum on-screen view to users. It comes with a 3D glass finish on back and 2.5D on the front. It also sports a dedicated micro-SD card where once can insert both SIMs as well as Micro SD cards at the same time.
A second remarkable feature of this smartphone would be Performance and Battery specification. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC and comes with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It operates on Android 10 on XOS 6.0 Dolphin OS. The brand’s UI comes with a house of pre-installed applications and games where some of them can be removed and others can be forced stop. The phone is extremely good when it comes to performance as it can perform multi-tasks without any lag. The smartphone features some user-centric features like bike mode, one-hand support game mode, do-not-disturb, eye-care and book reading that makes this smartphone more special.
Lastly comes the benchmark of this Infinix smartphone, its camera.
Infinix S5 Pro features a triple-camera setup at the back which includes an AI Triple Camera 48MP +2MP Depth Sensor and Low Light Sensor. The camera supports features like Auto Scene Detection: Detects 8 scenes, AI 3D Face and Body Beauty and Panorama. The most highlighted feature of this smartphone is its 16MP AI Pop-up Selfie camera. The selfie camera also helps click very clear selfies in different lighting conditions.
However, the race to make better smartphones that also fit the pocket-friendly budget has many competitors in it. The competition is tough in the market when it comes to phones under Rs.10,000. As pocket-friendly smartphones, all have similar features, and even similar designs, there are plenty of options to choose from if the budget is under Rs. 10,000 and the segment is undoubtedly dominated by Xiaomi Redmi phones, Realme, etc.
At a time when smartphones are basing their focus on compressing the sizes of their phones, Infinix S5 Pro is slightly broader and hence makes one-hand use a bit difficult and tiresome. As far as the design of the Infinix S5 is considered, the back panel of the phone shows smudges and fingerprints which might make a brand new phone look a little old.
Ahead of the launch of the Infinix S5 Pro, the camera stole the spotlight as it was one of the most talked-about features. All eyes were on the 16-megapixel pop-up AI camera that makes this phone unique. However, the pop-up selfie camera is more like a design feature than a camera feature. It undoubtedly makes the phone look good but the 16-megapixel selfie shooter is just average at best. The camera doesn’t seem to work well with a well-lit environment as it tends to make the picture unnecessarily brighter, which shows that the Infinix S5 is not good with exposure and bad exposure means low contrast and loss of details and colors.
While the Infinix S5 Pro has scored some pretty good points for itself, at the same time it also comes with a few drawbacks alongside. The price segment at which this smartphone is placed at, the features adds on to its credibility quite well.
